Partnering with Quality Improvement Organizations

Our team comes with decades of experience in the healthcare field. We have worked closely with hospitals, FQHCs, QIOs and nursing homes to provide patient centric programming aimed at improving health outcomes.

We are eager to serve as a subcontracting partner with QIOs across the country in anticipation of CMS soliciting RFPs for the 13th SOW

Let our team work with you to embed human-centered design programming in the work that you do.

Our Services

Field
Research

We employ a number of primary research methods to understand the people at the center of the quality work that we do. People are at the center of human-centered design, and our understanding of key stakeholders drives the adoption of best practices and the data that QIOs need to measure their work.

Digital
Hubs

One of our superpowers is the ability to create digital hubs. Digital hubs can drive engagement within a cohort over time and are excellent tools to coalesce members on any given topic when they are geographically spread.

The
Workshops

Usually ranging from 1/2 a day to two days, we bring together nursing homes and hospitals that are focused on a specific quality improvement topic. Breaking up attendees into teams, we utilize human centered applied learning techniques to drive them to strategic action.

Design
Sprints

We utilize design sprint methodology whenever we work with associations or hospitals over a period of time to solve a problem. We are adept at deploying sprints in as little as 30 days or up to 12 months depending on the engagement needed.

Our Areas of Focus

Health
Equity

We believe our ability to facilitate conversations that inform real strategies for improving diversity and health outcomes, is the best way that our team can contribute to addressing systematic disparities in healthcare.

High Reliability
Organizations

We apply tried and tested principles of high reliability organizations to your healthcare organization to align teams on a process to minimize harm.

Clinician Burnout
& Wellbeing

We have developed a high-touch process aimed at identifying the pain points for clinicians in your organization, building a plan to eliminate those pain points.

Quality Improvement
Skills Training

We have developed a course which marries human centered design techniques and adult learning principles with the science of improvement. Quality Improvement Skills Training has been approved for 5 contact hours and is ready to deploy to your organization.

Nurse
Staffing

We aim to bring hospitals together to design, prototype and test new innovative models for nurse staffing. Hospitals who engage in our nurse staffing offerings leave with fresh ideas on how to redesign their work and curate strategic models which are ready for implementation.

Fostering Community
Based Partnerships

We are adept at inviting the community to be part of the partnership and not just be a beneficiary. We use design methods to help build powerful business models and services that truly address social determinants of health and the fundamental challenges which hospitals and communities face.

Improving Clinical
Outcomes

We work with hospitals, health systems, and community-based organizations to move the metrics that matter. If your team is tasked with improving a clinical outcome, needs to spread a best practice from one setting to another, or needs help framing out your clinical quality improvement approach, then talk with us about how we can help align teams to achieve those outcomes.

Nursing
Homes

More than 80% of U.S. nursing homes reported staffing shortages in early 2023. With 15,000 nursing homes throughout the US, and approximately 1.2 million residents, this must be one of the most critical areas of focus for our health system. We are here to work with you to enhance the quality of care and outcomes in nursing homes throughout the country.

Executive Strategy
Sessions

Since our inception, helping organizations design new business models, create compelling strategic plans, and fostering a ‘culture of innovation’ has been at the heart of our work.

FAQ

What is Do Tank's philosophy?

Our DNA: We yearn to impact this world through our work; we value creative thought partners and embrace the freedom to think boldly beyond the box. IMPACT: We exceed expectations and delight. We are strategic “dot connectors” that drive at speed and product quality. CREATIVITY: We are highly experimental. We are always curious. We respect, help, and push each other. FREEDOM: We have the freedom to learn and share. We love to laugh and be ourselves.

Do you subcontract on state, federal, and private grants?

Yes! We love playing the role of subcontractor and “hero-maker”. Our team is adept at delivering for state and federal grants (CMS, CDC, etc.). We know you have deliverables and deadlines to meet and we are here to partner with you to do so in any scale. We have partnered with state associations, the AHA, and QIOs on varying length of terms, sometimes for years and sometimes for just a few months or one-off engagements.

What kind of value will these offerings provide to my organization/members?

Your organization, hospitals, and nursing homes will be upskilled in human-centered design techniques. We will de-silo communication. We will get your partners to think differently. We will challenge them, we will be thought partners with them, and through it all, we will have fun! We are a group of big, bold thinkers who value tackling wicked problems. We have experience globally and across many sectors and value sharing our deep and wide knowledge with all our partners. Most importantly, we will get things done. We will set clear objectives at the onset of our engagement, and we will work together with you to execute them in a timely, professional, and quality manner.

Have you worked with QIOs before?

Yes we have! Past projects include strategic planning with a QIO on their 5 year vision and partnering with another QIO to deliver racial equity programming for over 20 hospitals. We also have considerable experience working with hospital associations on large-scale, multi-organization change initiatives.

How much do these services cost?

There is quite a variance in the range of costs for our offerings. Each project and each budget we curate is bespoke. It is based on the hours of our team on the programming, visual and digital fronts to create and deliver the work. Bottom line: If you have a budget, we will figure out a way to deliver value for you within it. We value openness and transparency around cost and always encourage having a conversation with us so we can figure out what we can deliver for you within the budget you are operating in.

The Objective

This is the objective section. Here, we clearly state why we were hired, what the goals are, what the metrics for success are, and what the macro impact of the project is. Questions to remember: Why is this work important to this company? What do they have to gain? Lose? What have they lost already by not tackling this issue?
GET SPECIFIC. Do not attempt to vaguely market toward other businesses.
